Dearest Chase.........I am hurting
on the inside
Not on the outside.
It hurts me too say goodbye
and I’ll try really hard not
to cry.
You have always been in my life
now I am filled with strife.
You always protected me from
the bad
even in your old age, I knew
you always had.
She will be heart broken
You are her token, she will
be lost
You protected her from most.
I don’t want to say goodbye,
but I know it’s for your own
good.
It’s so tragic to me,
your sick I can see.
I wrote this poem for you
you being sick is a clue.
I will miss laying down with
you
our home will never be the same
You will always be in our hearts
You’ve always done your part.
Goodbye old friend … goodbye.
Love always .. Jordan

October 30th 1995 to October 5th 2008
After a brief illness and just
short of her 13th birthday, Bailey passed on to the Rainbow Bridge where
Chase was surely waiting for
her… a leash and ball in hand.
Bailey was a wonderful girl who greeted all with a wagging tail and an understanding that was surely passed on to the puppies
that arrived in our home long past her prime. She was my hunting companion with whom I would share my peanutbutter and jelly
sandwichs with all the while cuddling in between my legs.. on those cold frosty mornings… I often wondered who kept who warm.
Bailey never waivered and always brought the birds home, she would have done anything to make me happy and she was that way
when we said goodbye. She looked at me with her soulful Labrador eyes and told me that all would be alright, she was going to
be fine and not too worry as Chase was surely waiting on the other side …. I came back from hunting the other day to write this
and I can truly say …. it will never be the same without my Puppy …. Thank you Bev she has made owning a Labrador everything
you said it would be… "pup-pup"
will always be with me.
